Clinics

In every type of clinic listed below, all riders/handlers participate in all sessions. These are the most common clinics Sue teaches, but Sue can tailor a clinic to meet many needs. If you have an idea for something different, contact us to discuss it.

Basic Handle Clinics

The Basic Handle is a complete training program designed to place a solid foundation on a horse for any purpose. It has been used for nearly every discipline in which horses compete, as well as to train solid, well-mannered saddle, pleasure, or trail horses. Using the basic handle as their starting point, riders have gone on to success in recreational riding, and in competitive events like reining, cutting, polo, jumping, rodeo, gaming, and many other disciplines.

Reining Clinics

As a trainer and NRHA judge, Sue offers insight into ways to improve your reiner. Beginners through advanced reiners can also learn about techniques to improve maneuvers, keep a horse relaxed and happy in the show pen, how to put the maneuvers together to make a complete pattern, and how to ride to show off a horse’s strengths and minimize their weaker areas.

Freestyle Reining Clinics

Sue has a long history of entertaining audiences with many Freestyle wins on a variety of horses over the past 30 years. As a NRHA judge, she understands what judges want to see. Having a background in music and performance, she knows how to pick great music, spruce up the look, and choreograph the performance to entertain the audience and the judges.

Trailer Loading Clinics

Participants will learn a system for teaching trailer loading that makes the trailer a pleasant place to be. This method has been used to teach thousands of horses to load, and it focuses on safety for both horse and handler.

Ranch Riding Clinics

Sue has won in very tough Northwest AQHA competition in this relatively new sport to the western horse world. Her background in practical horse training and a wide variety of disciplines give her insight into methods to train for any Ranch Riding pattern, and are designed to make any horse more broke

Ground Work Clinics

Practical methods for everyday horse handling on the ground are covered in these clinics, with the goal being a quiet, pleasant horse for handling, leading, longeing and more.

General Horsemanship Clinics

Many equestrian disciplines can benefit from a solid foundation. These clinics may be tailored to a specific need or discipline.
